Tennessee Division Annual Meeting & Officer Elections

The Annual Meeting will be held online via the Zoom video conferencing platform on Thursday, July 27nd at 7pm CT. All members of the Tennessee Division are welcome and encouraged to attend this virtual Meeting, but to join in the Meeting, each member must register in advance with Zoom via the following link:

AGENDA. 

1.    Election of new officers

2.    Adoption of new USA Fencing Standardized Bylaws

3. Election of executive committee

4.    Review of division finances

5.    Review division scoring equipment

6.    Plan division events (referee training & tournaments) for 2023-2024 season

VOTING ELIGIBILITY. To be eligible to vote at this Special Meeting, you must be a current member in good standing with USA Fencing and also a member in good standing with the Tennessee Division. Voters also must have been 18 years of age on or before February 1, 2023 and have a USA Fencing membership that includes voting rights (Access level member and above). If you have not yet joined or renewed your USA Fencing membership for the 2023-24 season, and if you intend to vote at the Special Meeting, then you must join or renew your USA Fencing membership before the Meeting, in time for USA Fencing to update their eligible-voter list prior to the Meeting. (See USA Fencing Athlete Handbook for full voting eligibility).

 

Recommended Officer Candidates

The Division’s Executive Committee recommends that you vote for the following candidates for the 2022 – 2023 season. Other candidates may be nominated during the Meeting. Please see the nominating procedures provided on the Division’s website (see below), page News and Updates.

CHAIRPERSON CANDIDATE: Stuart Bernstein

Stuart has been the coach and faculty advisor for the MTSU Fencing club since 1998. He has served as a vice-chairperson of the TN division for three seasons.

VICE-CHAIRPERSON CANDIDATE: Daniel Morrell

Daniel has been a coach for the UT Knoxville fencing club, regularly serves on the bout committee at National Events, and is a lifetime member of USA Fencing. Daniel has previously served as vice chairperson and is willing to help us out for another season!

VICE-CHAIRPERSON CANDIDATE: Landon Springfield

Landon is a member of the Memphis University School Fencing Club and this will be his first time as a division officer.

SECRETARY CANDIDATE: Currently Open

We are asking for a volunteer for this position at the meeting.

TREASURER CANDIDATE: Kathy Dillard.

Kathy is the parent of a fencer and has been around fencing in TN for over five years. When not following her fencer, Kathy is a CPA.
